Kade turned 5!!

My big boy is now 5.  I seriously can't believe it.  I know one day I will be saying he is 18 and I really won't be able to even believe that.  Life goes by so fast, especially when your having fun.  This year Kade had the choice to do a bowling party.  It was really nice because I didn't have to do much preparing and cleaning up.  I always throw myself into a frenzy trying to make everything perfect.  In fact at his last year's birthday party I went and hid in my closet at one point and started sobbing.  Thank goodness I had my best friend Megan there to calm me down.  I am slowly learning to not stress myself out.  All that ultimately matters is that Kade has a wonderful time being with his friends, has a cake to eat, and some gifts to open.  I originally wanted to make it very small, but who am I fooling, we have a big family and nothing is ever going to be small.  And, I am perfectly ok with that.  Everyone that I invited came and I think Kade felt the love.  That evening we let him have his cousin and one friend spend the night too.  Jared did an amazing job at keeping those boys entertained while I went to Bunco with some friends and we let them stay up past 11 playing the Wii.  I think all in all it was a good day for our son.  We had to do his party the day before his actual birthday because one it was a Saturday and two his actual birthday was on Sunday (Mother's Day) and we had some things planned already for that day.  I was very honored to have shared Mother's day with my son.
Kade is such a special soul and we love him more than words could ever express.
He is Kind
Thoughtful
Helpful
Smart
Funny
He brings a ton of joy and happiness into our lives.
He is thriving at school and sports and we seriously could not be any more proud of him.
We love him so very much.  He is who made me a mother and he will always be our only baby boy.  Kade, when you read this one day, just know that mom and dad will and can never put into any words the happiness and joy you brought into our lives the day we found out you existed.  We love his contagious smile and laugh and the feeling we get every single time we see him.  We look forward to everything with him and we are very excited for his new venture in starting school.  We love you Kade Anthony!!!!!!!

I didn't get any amount of pictures I should have because I was too busy visiting with everyone and thanking everyone for coming.  I feel terrible.  It was a successful birthday though.  ;)

Las Vegas

This past Memorial Day weekend we took a mini family vacation and went to Las Vegas to celebrate my mom's 59th Birthday.  It worked out really well because we had wanted to take the kids to do something fun since we weren't going to be able to take them on our normal Fourth of July trip since it is so close to my due date.  My aunt and uncle from Guadalajara came, and my cousin Cindy lives there with her family and of course we saw my brother who lives there.  I could tell my mom was having the best birthday she's had in a long time, plus she kept saying that it was the best birthday ever.  I hardly get to be around my side of the family and it was really really nice.
The first thing we did Friday morning was met up with Jared's grandparents that live nearby in Henderson for breakfast.  It was really nice to see them and we want our kids to really know all their grandparents while we still have them here.  Henderson brings back some special memories of my dad because he lived there when I lived in AZ and I used to drive there and spend some time with him.  I have a memory of going with my dad one morning on his motorcycle around Henderson to run some errands, so I always enjoy going to Henderson.  Later on that day we met up with my family at the Wynn and then took the kids back to the room pretty late.  Saturday we hit up the Sugar Factory for breakfast with everyone, did a little bit of shopping, took the kids swimming and that evening was my mom's birthday dinner.  It was so fun to be with everyone.  On Sunday we took the kids to Circus Circus (which I will never go back there LOL) and then that evening we did the arcade at Excalibur and the Tournament of Kings show which Kade loved.  It was fun to take my kids there because that is where I used to go when I was a kid.  It was a little bit surreal.  Finally yesterday we drove home and got home early enough where I still got to take the kids swimming at the Country Club pool because they were so good for the long drive home.  Jared and I kept making the comment that our kids were being exceptionally well on our trip.  Maybe they were so worn out by everything we did that at moments they just sat there.  Ha!
We are so stoked it's summer.  Here are a few pictures from our trip to Vegas.  Did I mention the room we got at our hotel was 777 and it did bring us luck indeed.  The night before we left Jared went down to the Casino for a very short time and won $800.  I was so stoked.  He always tells me he won so nonchalant.  It cracks me up.  So pretty much with our rooms being completely comped and him winning that money, our trip was paid for.  Added bonus for sure!!!!

And.....Passed out!!
